In order to ensure that traffic signs comply with national standards, are clearly visible, and are properly maintained to ensure road safety, our trained Sign Inspectors carry out a thorough visual inspection of the road sign assets to record all details relating to the signs supported by photographic images and GPS co-ordinates. We detect faults associated with the performance of the signs, all faults are noted and analysed and recommendations on non-conforming items are proposed.

Key Elements:

  1. Location Mapping: Recording the precise location (GPS coordinates) of each traffic sign.
  2. Sign Condition: Assessing the physical state of each sign (e.g., faded, damaged, missing).
  3. Reflectivity Testing: Checking the visual performance of the sign reflectivity.
  4. Compliance Check: Ensuring signs comply with the Traffic Signs Manual.
  5. Visibility: Verifying signs are unobstructed by vegetation or other objects.
  6. Type of Sign: Documenting the type of sign (e.g., warning, regulatory, information).
  7. Recommendations: Providing suggestions for repairs, replacements, or new installations.

The data collected from the survey is crucial for local authorities, contractors, or road safety organisations to improve road safety and maintain infrastructure. The survey can be performed manually or using specialised GIS tools
